Promotion of Elizabeth Wechsler to Times Argus Business Office Manager

Posted: September 15, 2008

I am pleased to announce the promotion of Elizabeth Wechsler from Advertising Sales Manager to Times Argus Business Office Manager, effective immediately. Elizabeth will oversee all Times Argus Business Office functions, and will also oversee Ray Burchyns’ credit and collections efforts for all three divisions. She will continue her responsibilities in the advertising department for the next couple of weeks, until her transfer is completed on September 29, 2008.

“I’m looking forward to helping our company, our customers, and our employees resolve challenging issues in the billing and collections functions,” said Elizabeth. When asked whether she will miss working with advertisers and selling ad space, Elizabeth said, “I’m still going to be selling--by making sure that our customers who are facing challenges with us currently are going to be repeat customers: I want to resolve issues to their full and complete satisfaction. And I want to help employees meet those challenges as well.”

Elizabeth started with the Times Argus in February, 1986, as the Montpelier Account Executive, selling retail ad space to Montpelier accounts. About four years later, Elizabeth took on the Burlington territory in addition to Montpelier, selling ad space there for both the Times Argus and the Rutland Herald.

After a year in absentia, Elizabeth was hired back to the Times Argus as the supervisor of the retail advertising department. In 1999, she was promoted to her current position of Advertising Manager, overseeing both the retail and classified advertising departments.

Elizabeth holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Vermont and is a former flight attendant and training instructor with American Airlines. She enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking, and reading. She lives in Stowe with her husband, Bob, a financial planner.
